Happy Birthday to us!
Happy Landings to Robert!
Happy Windfall for Diabetes UK!
Robert Broxup, Managing Director of Integrity Software Solutions, wanted to mark the special occasion of the company’s 10th birthday in 2008 with something a bit more spectacular than a party, so he jumped out of a plane!
Skydiving had been a long held dream for Robert, but to make best use of the event, he decided to use it to raise funds for a charity as well.
Integrity Software Solutions had recently completed a first class project for the Scottish National Health Service to improve performance of their Diabetes Data Warehouse. Working on this project had opened Robert’s eyes to the seriousness of Diabetes and its consequences. He was shocked by the number of patients that lose their sight and have limb amputations as a result of the condition, as well as the increasing prevalence of Diabetes in the population.
Diabetes UK is the largest charitable organisation in the UK working for people with diabetes, providing information and support, funding research, campaigning and helping people live with the condition. Diabetes UK relies on charitable donations for their valuable work. It seemed like the perfect fit.
Integrity Software Solutions paid for the training and the jump. Through the generosity of many personal and corporate donations, an amazing £2000 was raised for the charity.
We would like to send a very big thank you to the many individuals who so kindly contributed and an equally big thank you to our corporate supporters. Two especially generous companies were Liverpool Victoria, Bournemouth based provider of a wide range of Insurance Products who donated an amazing £500, and PIMSS Data Systems Ltd, developer of one of the leading Social Housing Management Software Systems.
Of course, an especially big thank you goes out to Robert himself (who happily survived the experience) for risking life and limb for such a good cause.
